Save the Dream and Sport for Humanity Sign Agreement in the Vatican Officially Launching Global Digital Community

Save the Dream and Sport at the Service of Humanity, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, formally launching the operations of the Global Digital Community (GDC) with the support of the Pontifical Council for Culture.
The MoU was signed by Massimiliano Montanari, CEO of Save the Dream and David Eades, Chairman of Sport at the Service of Humanity at the conclusion of a high-level meeting in Vatican City involving a select group of supporters and philanthropists who reviewed the initial recommendations from the GDC virtual kick-off conference which took place a week earlier with the involvement of several United Nations bodies, sport and civil society organizations, as well as representatives from different religions and faiths.
The meeting participants engaged in discussions around the required resources to realize the initial objectives of the joint initiative and implement the recommendations received during the virtual kick-off. Some of the participants included Hayden Soloviev of the Solow Art and Architecture Foundation, first donor of GDC; Abdelaziz Shady of the World Muslim League, Olympians Mike and Nancy Vespoli of Vespoli Inc., Save the Dream ambassadors David Trezeguet, Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani and Giusy Versace, Paralympian and Italian Parliament Member, Mauro Betti of the World Boxing Council, Hussam Abdul Salam of Salam International Investments and other representatives from the business and sport sectors such as Federico Castellani of El.En and Luca Tosini of You Energy Volley.
Through the GDC partnership, Save the Dream and Sport for Humanity will strengthen their shared vision, values and commitment to providing local faith and sport communities with a global digital platform where they can access and learn from tools, best practices, case studies, and other resources to support their programs using the practice of sport and exposure to its educational and societal values.
As a fitting culmination of the GDC launch, the initiative’s leaders and high-level participants received special blessings from His Holiness Pope Francis during the Wednesday morning Papal Audience in Vatican City.
