Sport, Joy and Glory: A Discussion on the Values of Sport
The University of Rome’s Foro Italico hosted “Sport, Joy and Glory: A discussion on the values of sport” – an initiative of the Vatican’s Courtyard of the Gentiles.
Held on December 1, 2016, the meeting opened with Mr. Fabio Pigozzi, Rector of Foro Italico and Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi of the Pontifical Council for Culture sharing their reflections on sport and values.
A panel discussion was the forum’s main highlight – with Mr. Mario Pescante of the IOC; Ms. Rosanna Ciuffetti of CONI; Mr. Emanuele Isidori, Professor of Ethics and Philosophy of Sport; the PCC’s Msgr. Melchor Sánchez and Valerio Taras, Paralympic Swimming Champion – who shared their points of view and anchored the lively exchange of ideas.
